From Hollywood to Hidden Mexico Luxury
If you’re looking for the perfect combo of city energy + beachside luxury, let me introduce you to a trip that completely surprised me…
👉 Los Angeles & Los Cabos
This itinerary is the ultimate mix of iconic experiences, incredible food, luxury resorts and vibrant culture and I’m already trying to figure out how I can get back.
We kicked things off with 2 days in Los Angeles, and as always with LA… it was go, go, go.
🍽️ Where We Ate (Because Priorities)
- Gracias Madre – the perfect first lunch, fresh and full of flavour
- STK – and WOW… the warm chocolate chip cookie dessert deserves its own moment. Unreal.
🎬 What We Did
- Hollywood Hills Bikes & Hikes Eco Tour – such a fun way to see LA from a different perspective
- Universal Studios Hollywood – including the famous Backlot Tour (a must-do!)
We also squeezed in some hotel inspections at:
- Andaz West Hollywood
- Mondrian Los Angeles
👉 Both great options depending on your style and vibe.
Next stop… Los Cabos, and WOW—this place completely exceeded expectations.
We checked into Marquis Los Cabos, and from the moment we arrived, it felt like pure luxury.
Think:
- Oceanfront views
- Stunning infinity pools
- Relaxed, high-end vibe
One of my favourite experiences was heading into San José del Cabo for the evening.
Picture this:
- Mariachi bands playing live
- Fairy lights glowing overhead
- Colourful streets buzzing with energy
We:
- Wandered through local streets
- Visited the Patricia Mendoza Art Gallery
- Took photos under the iconic Mexican fiesta flags
- Explored “Tequila Town” (thousands of tequila options 😅)
And dinner?
Let’s just say it included:
- Tequila shots
- Serenading from a singer
- And yes… a few laybacks (tequila poured straight in!)
👉 It was fun, vibrant and so authentically Mexican.
We headed out on a boat trip from Cabo San Lucas, sailing past the iconic El Arco—and it was just as beautiful as you imagine.
We spent the day:
- Cruising the coastline
- Enjoying a private lunch onboard
- Swimming in the Sea of Cortez
👉 Absolute pinch-me moment.
Back at Marquis Los Cabos, we had a hosted dinner at Sakke—and I’m still thinking about those Hoisin ribs 🤤
We also experienced:
- A wine tasting at Grand Velas, perfectly paired with dinner
- Consistently incredible food across every resort we visited
👉 Cabo seriously delivers when it comes to food.
We also spent time at Omnia Day Club, which just so happened to fall on May the 4th (Star Wars Day).
Yes… we were drinking:
- Darth Vader-ade
- Yoda sodas
👉 Not your average day at the pool
This trip was also all about experiencing Cabo’s incredible resorts.
We inspected:
- ME Cabo
- Paradisus
- Hard Rock Hotel
- Playa Grande Resort
- Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos
- Riu Palace
We also stayed at Grand Velas, which is exactly what the name suggests—grand, luxurious and stunning.
💛 My Favourite?
Mar del Cabo by Velas
A small, boutique, family-run property with authentic Mexican charm… and honestly, I loved it the most.
👉 It felt intimate, unique and so different from the larger resorts.
Here’s the thing…
👉 Los Cabos is still relatively unknown for Aussies—and I don’t know why.
Because it is:
- Beautiful
- Easy to navigate
- Packed with luxury resorts
- Full of culture, food and experiences
It’s the perfect:
✔️ Couples escape
✔️ Luxury holiday
✔️ Add-on to a USA trip
I LOVED Cabo.
This trip was a mix of resort life, experiencing the destination and exploring what’s on offer for clients—and it completely delivered.
