7 days in Dubai

More than just a stopover

Let’s be honest—Dubai has long been seen as a quick stopover on the way to Europe. But after spending 7 days in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, I can confidently say… it deserves centre stage on your travel bucket list.

This city is a perfect blend of ultra-modern luxury, rich culture, and unforgettable experiences and it completely surprised me in the best way.

Why Dubai Should Be Your Next Holiday Destination

  • Desert adventures
  • World-class dining
  • Iconic landmarks

…Dubai delivers all of it and then some.

It’s a destination where you can go from a sunrise desert safari to rooftop cocktails overlooking the world’s tallest building all in the same day.

Every single one? Beautiful, luxurious, and surprisingly affordable depending on the season.

A deeper look
Culture of Dubai

One of my favourite parts of this trip was diving a little deeper into the culture.

  • The traditional breakfast at the cultural centre gave real insight into Emirati traditions, hospitality, and daily life
  • Learning about falcons during the desert safari why they’re so valued and how they’re cared for was something I didn’t expect but absolutely loved

It’s these moments that take a trip from “great” to truly memorable.

Travel Tips for Dubai
From someone who has been there
  • Best time to visit Dubai: October to April (cooler, more enjoyable weather)
  • Off-season travel = luxury for less – incredible 5-star hotels at better value
  • Plan your days – there’s more to do than you think
  • Mix it up – balance city, culture, and desert experiences
My Honest Take
Is Dubai worth it?

Before this trip, I’ll admit, I thought Dubai was just a stopover destination.

Now? I couldn’t disagree more.

Dubai is a destination in its own right, offering:

  • World-class luxury
  • Unique cultural experiences
  • Adventure
  • Relaxation
  • And endless things to see and do

7 days flew by… and I’d go back in a heartbeat.
