Bali - My second home

Why you'll fall in love too

There are places you visit… and then there are places that become part of you.

For me, that place is Bali.

I first travelled to Bali at 15, and ever since then, I’ve found myself returning year after year sometimes twice, even three times. I’ve lived there for a month, explored beyond the tourist trail, island-hopped to Nusa Lembongan and Gili Trawangan, and experienced it through every stage of life.

And yet… no matter how many stamps I collect on my passport, Bali keeps calling me back.

Because Bali isn’t just a destination to me... its home.

Where I have stayed
What I recommend

Over the years, I’ve stayed everywhere from budget-friendly gems to ultra-luxury villas and this is exactly why I can match the perfect stay to each of my clients.

When you are planning your perfect Bali trip its all about ensuring you book the right area for you and your needs. If you get that wrong you will be sure to never go back.

A few highlights from my personal stays:

  • Padma Resort Legian – My all-time favourite. This is Bali done right. It’s luxe without feeling pretentious, family-friendly but still relaxing, and the breakfast? Honestly unmatched. It feels like a home away from home every single time.
  • W Bali - Seminyak & Double-Six Luxury Hotel Seminyak – Perfect for those wanting beachfront luxury with a social vibe.
  • Viceroy Bali & COMO Uma Ubud – Jungle serenity, private pools, and that “wow” factor.
  • AYANA Resort Bali & Karma Kandara – Cliffside luxury and iconic sunsets.
  • Club Med Bali – Incredible for families or those wanting everything taken care of.
  • Villa Ombak & Hai Tide Beach Resort – Island life at its best.

And then there are the hidden gems, boutique stays, villas… the list goes on. Bali truly has something for every style and budget.

Experiences you can't miss
If you think Bali is just poolside cocktails and beach clubs... think again.

Some of my favourite experiences over the years:

  • Sunrise over Mount Batur (jeep style – trust me on this one)
  • Cycling through rice fields in Ubud
  • Quad biking through jungle trails
  • Exploring hidden markets and local villages
  • Day trips to Nusa Penida
  • Cooking classes at Casa Luna
  • Dolphin encounters
  • Bali Hai day cruises

But if I had to choose one standout?

✨ The silver jewellery making class.

I made a beautiful silver ring there that I still wear today and every time I look at it, I’m instantly taken back to Bali. It’s those kinds of meaningful, hands-on experiences that make a trip unforgettable.

Lets Talk food
Because WOW

Bali’s food scene is next level and honestly one of the reasons I keep coming back.

Bali’s food scene is one of the biggest highlights of the island, and over the years I’ve found it’s all about mixing those iconic must-visits with a few hidden gems.

In Seminyak, you can’t go past La Lucciola for beachfront dining or Ku De Ta for a more elevated experience, while Mama San and Merah Putih deliver consistently incredible food (just be sure to book ahead).

In Ubud, Indus Restaurant is a standout for its rice paddy views, and Bebek Tepi Sawah offers a uniquely Balinese dining experience with its serene pavilion setting. Or head to Merlins for something a little more fun and if you are feeling spontaneous you can even let the card pick a meal for you.

Canggu is full of trendy cafés like The Avocado Factory and Milk & Madu, perfect for brunch or casual bites. And if you’re heading south, don’t miss a sunset seafood dinner along the beach in Jimbaran or a cocktail with a view at Rock Bar Bali.

My top tips:

  • Pre-book restaurants – Bali is BUSY, and the best spots book out fast
  • Mix it up – local warungs + high-end dining = the perfect balance
  • Don’t skip Indonesian classics like nasi goreng, satay & mie goreng
Bali Day spas, your slice of Heaven
You'll want more than one.

If there’s one thing Bali does better than almost anywhere in the world… it’s day spas.

Whether you’re after a quick massage between shopping, a full luxury spa day, or a pampering session before dinner, Bali has something for every budget and every style.

And trust me… you won’t just go once.

My go to places have consisted of:

Seminyak (The Ultimate Spa Hub)

  • Bodyworks Spa
A Bali classic. Think beautiful interiors, iconic flower baths, and the perfect mix of relaxation + Instagram-worthy moments. Mid-range pricing and consistently good.
  • Spring Spa Bali
A rooftop spa experience that feels a little more elevated. Perfect for a luxe treatment with a view.
  • Sundari Day Spa
One of the more premium options super professional, high-quality treatments. Definitely one to pre-book (and worth it).
  • Prana Spa
This one is an experience. Moroccan-inspired interiors, vibrant colours, and a really unique feel. A must if you want something a little different.
  • Blow Bar Bali & Shampoo Lounge
Not your typical spa—think hair treatments, blow waves, and cocktails. Perfect before a night out.

Legian & Kuta (Great Value & Consistency)

  • Febri’s Spa
One of the best value spas in Bali with consistently amazing treatments. A go-to for reliability.
  • La Karma Spa
Clean, professional, and well-priced—perfect for a quick but quality massage.
  • GLO Spa
Slightly older space but great value and solid treatments.

 Canggu (Trendy & Wellness-Focused)

  • Tonic Day Spa
A beautiful, modern spa that fits perfectly with Canggu’s wellness vibe. Great for a more boutique experience.

Nusa Dua & Jimbaran (Relaxed & Resort-Style)

  • Nusa Dua Spa by Lily
Award-winning spa with hotel transfers included—ideal if you want an easy, relaxing experience.
  • Doi Bali Spa
Super cute, colourful treatment huts and a peaceful setting. They also offer pick-up and drop-off which makes it so convenient.

Nusa Lembongan

  • Spring Spa - The ultimate relaxation on the cliff overlooking the beautiful blues of Nusa Lembongan

There are so many incredible spas in Bali… but if I had to give you one non-negotiable:

👉 Jari Menari

This is hands down the best massage I have had on the entire island and honestly, one of the best in the world.

It’s not your typical spa it’s technique-driven, unique, and something you will remember long after your trip.

The Day club options are endless

When people hear “Bali day clubs,” they often picture loud music, big crowds, and party vibes…

And while yes, Bali can deliver that — the truth is, Bali’s day club scene is so much more than that.

After travelling to Bali year after year (and testing more day clubs than I can count), I can confidently say this:

✨ There is a Bali day club for every type of traveller.

Whether you’re a honeymoon couple, a family with kids, a group of friends, or someone just wanting a relaxed cocktail by the pool… Bali has absolutely nailed the day club experience.

If  your idea of a perfect day is slow, scenic, and stylish — these are your go-to:

  • Sundays Beach Club – Private beach access, crystal clear water, and a super relaxed vibe
  • Potato Head Beach Club – Iconic, stylish, and surprisingly chill during the day
  • Ulu Cliffhouse – Clifftop views with a boutique feel
  • Mari Beach Club – Aesthetic, earthy, and a little more low-key

👉 These are perfect for honeymooners, couples, or anyone wanting that lux Bali feel without the chaos.

One of the biggest misconceptions? That day clubs aren’t for families.

So not true.

  • Finns Beach Club – Massive, well-run, and surprisingly great for families (multiple pools + space to spread out)
  • Atlas Beach Club – One of the largest in the world, with areas that suit all ages

👉 Go earlier in the day for a calmer vibe, grab a daybed, and it becomes the easiest, most enjoyable day for both parents and kids.

Celebrating something? Or just want a bit of energy without going full nightclub?

  • Café del Mar Bali – Ibiza vibes, great music, and iconic sunset moments
  • Mrs Sippy Bali – Fun, social, and known for its jumping platform into the pool

👉 These are perfect for birthdays, girls trips, or that “we’re on holiday, let’s have fun” energy.

My tips for booking the best spot: Book ahead, the best daybeds go quickly. Always check the minimum spend and choose your location wisely.
